The perfect day....

How does your perfect day in Cottbus look like? No clue? We’ve got just the thing for you! No matter if you’re by yourself, with a partner, kids or elders, if you’re interested in culture, biking or feeding an elephant - Cottbus has too many offers to put into just “one perfect” day.

Here are our tested tips and ideas for you:

...for active bikers

A 45 kilometre (28 miles) tour along the international cycling tracks from Cottbus to Burg and back. Starting in Sandow Cottbus ( a couple of meters from the Altmarkt (old market)) the tour will go further into the north. You will see the romantic Spree-dam-mill and continue your way through the renaturated Spree- meadow in Dissen to Burg. Spreewald gherkins (pickles), jacket potatoes with curd (sour cream like substance) and linseed oil are culinary highlights of the tour. Really active people can go paddling in one of the many streams and aficionados can simply relax on one of the Spreewald boats. Going back to Cottbus you have the chance to go along the gherkin cycling track.

...for kids with their parents and grand parents

Kids, take the adults by the hand and show them what you’d love to do:

Feeding elephants in the zoo, playing on the meadows of the Spreeauenpark, eating crapes in the park café and going on a ride with the miniature railway (stops directly next to the Zoo and the Park cafe). The Marstall in the park branitz has a special exhibition made for kids. Go on “A quest to find the petrified prince.” If your Parents still have time to breath, take them to the indoor swimming pool “Lagune” or the indoor playground “pipapo”. Here is an insider tip for you: The Sportpark Cottbus in Gallinchen has an exciting golfing court for the whole family.
